Laureen Pittman:
“Everything I Need to Know I Learned From Cooking (Competitions)”

Laureen’s hobby and passion is cooking — more specifically, competitive cooking.  Since 2002, Laureen has participated in over 20 national and local recipe and cooking competitions, including the Food Network’s Ultimate Recipe Showdown, Ocean Spray’s Ultimate Cranberry Recipe Competition and Cookoff, Aetna’s Healthy Food Fight the Pillsbury Bake-Off (twice!), the Gilroy Garlic Festival, and the inaugural “World Food Championships” in 2012. Many of her recipes have been published in national magazines, cookbooks, and online. Laureen will talk about her love of cooking, the thrill of competition, and the exciting experiences she has had along the way.

All lectures will be held at the Riverside Art Museum, with a social time at 6 p.m., and the lecture beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. Lectures will be followed by a short question and answer session.
