Downtown Ambassadors

The Downtown Ambassador program provides uniformed personnel that patrol the downtown core in an electric vehicle.

Eyes and Ears of Downtown

RDP Ambassadors patrol the downtown core daily from 9 am to 5 pm, providing guidance to visitors by offering directions and giving them RDP guides such as the Downtown Pocket & Dining Guide which lists all the businesses and restaurants in the area, liaising with downtown businesses, helping downtown visitors who may be using the parking meters for the first time, and other duties as needed.

RDP Ambassadors also provide a visible safety presence and reporting as needed to the police with respect to panhandling and other security issues.  Ambassadors assist with moving transients along and other problems encountered by downtown businesses.
