RDP hosts the 1st annual Downtown Riverside Celebrates Restaurant Week

Riverside, CA. Downtown Riverside Celebrates Restaurant Week is a promotional effort by RDP (Riverside Downtown Partnership) to attract visitors to downtown Riverside restaurants and introduce them to the various dining options available. The promotion will take place from June 20th to June 30th and will include two weekends. The latter part of June was selected to build customer base for the slower summer months.

Participating restaurants will offer a menu item (lunch and/or dinner) clearly identified as a Restaurant Week special. The lunch and/or dinner menu item will be either a new menu item created for Restaurant Week or an existing menu item at a special price or combined with another item to create a special offering. All of the specials will be listed on the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/RestaurantWeekDowntownRiverside

Since some restaurants are unable to change their menus due to franchise or other restrictions, two restaurants are doing a fundraising effort to benefit two selected charities, the Riverside Police Foundation and the Riverside Public Library Foundation. The restaurants are Applebee’s and The Old Spaghetti Factory.

As a further incentive for customers to try restaurants participating in Restaurant Week, RDP is coordinating an ‘Enter to Win’ contest during the promotion. Each participating restaurant will be provided with a supply of entry forms to provide to each customer ordering a Restaurant Week special or making a contribution to the restaurant’s fundraising effort. There will be two draws, one on Wednesday, June 26th and one on Wednesday, July 3rd, with two entries chosen in each for restaurant gift certificates.

RDP will be encouraging diners during the promotion to post pictures of their dining experiences on our Instagram page @RestaurantWeekDTRiverside. At the end of the promotion, the five restaurants with the most pictures posted will be recognized as the 2013 Restaurant Week Top Choices. Restaurant specials will be posted at facebook.com/RestaurantWeekDowntownRiverside.
