RDP Seeks Volunteer of the Year Award Nominations for its Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony

RIVERSIDE, CALIF. — December 6, 2011 — The late Roy Hord was a former RDP Board Member who faithfully served in the community of Riverside for over 25 years. RDP established this prestigious award in his honor in 2003. This award is given to individuals who exemplify the spirit of volunteerism. This person should be dedicated to the community and have a history of numerous hours of volunteerism in various areas especially working with youth.

The Roy Hord “Volunteer of the Year” Award is presented each year at Riverside Downtown Partnership’s Annual Meeting and Award Ceremony. This year’s event takes place Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott in Riverside.

RDP is currently accepting nominations for this award. If you know someone deserving of the 2012 Roy Hord “Volunteer of the Year” Award, submit the person’s name and a short bio describing why you feel this person qualifies as outstanding volunteer of the year (in 300 words or less). The deadline for nominations is Friday, Jan. 13, 2012. Other outstanding achievements that will be recognized at this ceremony; Downtown Improvement; Arts and Culture; Downtown Public Event; Downtown Business Activity; Downtown Safety and Security; and Chair’s Award.

The event includes a social networking cocktail hour, a dinner buffet, opportunity drawings, the awards ceremony, and concludes with recognition of outgoing and incoming RDP Board Members.
